This is a purely unscientific observation based on many years of following local and national races in the "red T" of the Pennsylvania mid-state. Through several decades of election cycles it has seemed that any candidate who can flood the area with yard signs--especially those displayed on private property, as opposed to major intersections in public right of ways--has gone on to prevail in the election. The candidate who strikes first wins big.
