Do you remember the corner grocer? In my neighborhood it was run by an Italian family who by the standards of the day were exotically ethnic. The best time to get there was right after they opened on a Saturday morning, when their supply of fresh fruits and vegetables was at its peak and everything was stacked in these wonderful triangular displays that to me defied the laws of physics.
